Reviews
Small and narrow dimly lit bar with a great vibe and very good inventive cocktails.
We sat outside at a high table and had great chat. Cocktails post Happy Hour were ~$14-16 a pop.
Great place for drinks at happy hour. Staff was kind but only one server was available. It is a small place but they seemed to need some help. Dishes were piling up and our server also was a bartender. Also one of the glasses of water that was handed to us was dirty however we didn't bring it up they seemed to already have their hands full with a full house. They deserve all the respect. The burgers were okay.
Crown Alley is an awesome neighborhood bar just around the corner from my place that I stumbled upon with my roommate, and we're hooked!
Their happy hour is the bomb (price/vibes/taste). BUT my favorite part is the bartenders. Between serving amazing $8 negronis and old fashions - they are super sweet and fun to chat with. I gave props to a bartender for his orange peeling skills, and he proceeded to make me an adorable flower out of orange peels in my aperol spritz.
It's become my roommate and I's regular hangout (and now I take my work friends for Thursday HH's)!
Totally would feel comfortable grabbing a drink w friends or even alone knowing how friendly and welcoming the space is.
Dope happy hour ($8 Negronis in Chelsea?!), fast service, colorful crowd, sweet spot. Narrow bar, packed tables, nosh options. Scenic sidewalk outdoor seating. Max Manhattan vibes.
Crown Alley was my first time going out in the United States since returning from my honeymoon in Europe a few months ago. My husband and I went here for happy hour.
Their happy hour deals were great! $1 oysters (gotta get 6 minimum) and good drinks (his beer was $5; my cocktail was $8, I believe) made for a nice afternoon after gallery-hopping in Chelsea.
It was packed, and I wish that there was more seating available that was not directly in the sun. But we made it work, and we would return.
Had such a great experience at Crown Alley. My boyfriend emailed to make a reservation and the manager Barry responded right away and was very accommodating. They have an amazing beer list, both draft and cans & really great food. The lamb sandwich was to die for and so was the mac & cheese. Try to go before 7 PM- dollar oysters. Can’t wait to go back!!
If I were selfish, I wouldn’t review this amazing place so I could keep it and all its glory to myself and the special folks who know of it. But I’m not selfish and you should know it exists because it is wonderful and absolutely one of the best Happy Hours I’ve enjoyed in NYC. Best Negroni I’ve had in NYC - truly - and it was on the Happy Hour menu. Also, $1 Oyster Happy Hour? Come on!!! Get over there and enjoy yourself with friends, especially now that the weather is nice and the outdoor seating is slammin. Can’t wait to go back. Shoutout to Dean who was our rockstar server.
Best neighbourhood bar in NYC by a long shot. Good food, incredible cocktails and impeccable service. The owner is a very tall fella called Barry and supposedly he's called Tall Ships and gives free shots to anyone who calls him by his nickname.
